The "Tibetan Book of the Dead," Dante's "Divine Comedy," Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland," C. G. In repeated visits over an extended period, the author, very much a mundane man, experienced a plethora of strange visions and apparitions. These led him on a journey across multiple realms and worlds, ultimately taking him into the celestial chambers of a mysterious white-bearded being, where final secrets were revealed, before returning him to earth, transfigured.
