Authors use different standpoints and methodologies: some chapters are more legally oriented; others focus on political philosophy, or technology; some chapters use a more theoretical approach whereas others resort to empirical work and case-studies. This transdisciplinary approach makes the book innovative.Authors come from different academic backgrounds (scholars engaged in theoretical work and scholars who are also activists in the area of human rights) and different jurisdictions (the USA, Europe etc).
