Thomas Manu has lived for almost 1,000 years. Long enough to see humans reach a technological acme, watch it crumble in the face of a global disaster, and see it rise again in the form of multiple oppressive forms of rule. In that time he has used his memories and lost technology to help people recover what they have lost: their technology, their freedom, and their humanity. But resistance is determined, violent, and indoctrinated, and time is running out.
