Beskrivelse
Migration of Hmong to the Midwestern United States emphasizes the value of qualitative research into the trans-cultural practice of the newest refugee group to the Midwestern United States, the Hmong refugees from Laos, China, Vietnam, and Thailand. The author examines how multigenerational Hmong families are adjusting and adapting to life in Rochester, Minnesota. Qualitative interviewing through in-depth individual interviews and participant observation was the method of data collection. In Migration of Hmong the reader will find that the Hmong subjects interviewed for this study show a high degree of discrepancy between the acculturation levels based on age and country of origin.
