Elric, albino Emperor of the ancient island of Melnibone, has reigned over his people for millennia, witness to their decadence and degeneration. But Elric is ailing. To stave off disease and death, he relies on a dangerous mixture of drugs and magic. His cousin Yyrkoon, despising Elric's weakness, plots to undermine Elric's authority and seize the Ruby Throne.
