Physiological and environmental conditions affect the capacity of reproduction and the drive to do so. Hyperthermia is caused by exposure to excessive heat, or combination of heat and humidity, that overwhelms the heat-regulating mechanisms. Mete (2012) opines that although regulation of body temperature and individual adaptation to environmental climatic changes are well documented, little is known about mechanisms and pathological aspects of hyperthermia. Heat stress is often blamed for suboptimal reproductive efficiency in males.Scientists have predicted that, not only will much of the globe see gradually rising temperatures, but extreme temperature spikes - such as heat-waves - will become much more common; and much more severe. The findings reported by Kjellstrom et al. (2009) has supported that heat stress increases the risk of serious injury and reproductive ill-health among workers who are exposed to hot and humid work environments, especially in tropical countries with low per capita income. Hence, it is of utmost importance to develop a health program to withguard the reproductive efficiency of people living in hot tropical, subtropical and equatorial regions urgently, given the looming threat of increase in global warming. Hence heat was chosen to serve the dual purpose of acting as the source to produce alterations in the parameters understudy and also to substantiate that mica nanoparticles can be used as anti-impotency fecundity drug for people living under heat stress conditions. To achieve this goal, relation of mica nanoparticles and testes has been extensively studied experimentally and presented here. The study encompasses the histological and ultrastructural study of germinal epithelium, sperm quality and quantity, hemato-biochemical parameters, testosterone levels and oxidative stress in testes using rat as an experimental model. The rats were subjected to heat stress to produce heat-related alterations in them which mica nanoparticles was expected to correct.
