Mercury & Tin, Boon to mankind

Mercury is a boon to mankind as medicine. At the same time it helps to convert other metals in to suitable nano particles which are organometalic compound. Classical books of Ayurveda has prescribed mercury and tin as medicines for various conditions. A pilot project was taken to assess the effects of both the metals for the study. Toxicological study was done as follows. a. Vanga (Tin) Bhasma prepared through Vastraputa.b. Vanga Bhasma prepared through the media of Parada (Mercury); Sulfur and ammonium chloride by using the Kupipakva method which is popularly known as Swarnavanga.Vanga Bhasma is an oxide of tin (SnO2), round shaped and white in color. Whereas Swarnavanga is a compound in which stannous Sulphide and stannous oxide have been reported. This book reveals the efforts made to convert mercury and tin in to suitable dosage forms.
