When sentenced to two concurrent 15 year prison terms, with no biological family, and surrounded by fake friends, you quickly rely on God, love, and your girlfriend for survival. Your girlfriend-turned wife, in turn, relies on God, love, and poetry to see the bid through. Herein, is the tale of both experiences, and observations during the 15-year prison sentence, in NYS maximum security prisons. 



You get to hear the stories, humanize the outcasts of society,  build life-long friendships, and engage in supernatural divinely guided love that only a small group of prison wives and husbands conceptualize. 



This collection of poetry candidly focuses on the human experience in America's 20th century prison system: minority disenfranchisement, inferiority, racism, discrimination, love, parenthood, mass incarceration, "broken-homes", trauma, poverty, sexuality, growth, and spirituality all intertwined in harmonious literary form.
