Beskrivelse

Mental health and suicidal thoughts is a book describing the struggles of the human person. Life is a journey, and this journey is perceived by individuals in different ways. To some people the journey of life is extremely difficult, and to others not so much. Some people navigate through life without major events and some other people live through severe catastrophe. There are people whose childhood experience was more pleasant than not, and to others their childhood was extremely traumatic. The root problem with most people is based on the fact that they have not adequately learned about their own self-value. This poor perception of themselves, and the fact that they don't see much value in themselves cause them to more easily get engaged in a web of self- destructive types of behaviors. These destructive initiatives are specifically related to their involvement with the wrong intimate partner, or to get hooked by drugs and alcohol abuse, and aggression and violence. Many of these people end up developing some type of mental health disorder such as anxiety and depression, and many due to the fact they do not seek appropriate care, have these mental health issues progressing into a more serious type of mental illness, and some experiencing suicidal thoughts.

The problem with many people is their tendency to live oblivious to the fact that each individual human being has a primary responsibility toward himself. It is almost as if they perceived themselves as secondary elements in life. This irresponsibility toward oneself leads people to live their lives more so in function of others, instead of themselves. By not focusing on themselves first, they become unable to detect their true needs, and that generates a feeling of emptiness internally and the sensation of needs never provided for. Part of the root problem is expressed in the fact that individuals are not appropriately connected with themselves. They become like birds with broken wings attempting to fly by using the wings of others, and that is very common within intimate relationships. They expect others to provide for them that which they should have provided for themselves. This leads people to feel fundamentally unhappy, dissatisfied and incomplete. Too many of these people live life, but under the shadow of death. They are unable to live their own life optimally. They don't like life, and they don't like living it. Life strikes them as unpleasant, and that Carries the potential for suicidal ideation.

People have not realized that life needs to be nurtured and cared for. They have not learned yet that their own life is their best investment in this earth, and this lack of attention toward themselves has brought them to a crossroad in the journey and now it is as if they don't know what turn to take.

Mental health and suicidal thoughts is a book that brings a biblical perspective as an very important one to this life journey. This book shows that depression, anxiety and oppression are serious problems, and that they are mainly part of the life of those people who have been less than diligent with themselves.
