Beskrivelse
Gender is an important topic of public debate, as can be seen in discussions about Gender Mainstreaming or gender-sensitive language as well as in polemizations against gender ideology. So far, German-speaking protestant theology has only reluctantly started to engage these controversies about sexual identity and sexuality. This volume opens a conversation with current insights and concerns from gender studies and discusses their implications for central theological topics. Within an interdisciplinary and ecumenical scope and from scholars of different generations, it combines contributions from biblical, historical, dogmatic, and practical theological perspectives as well as from religious studies. A variety of perspectives demonstrate how concepts of sexuality both challenge and inspire theological engagement.
