In the book, three members of the Cuban internationalist mission in Angola tell of their adventures in 1976, a few months after the beginning of the Cuban aid to the People's Republic of Angola. They, men as common as the others, in spite of their age, keep in their memories how much this feat meant to their lives and agree to testify of the unforgettable days in which they were part of an epic without equal in the history of the Cuban nation, a mission in which its protagonists were the very essence of the Cuban people; young people who left their families, postponed their life projects and, armed with noble ideas, set out to fight in the lands of their ancestors and who, with their actions, helped to change the course of the history of the African continent.
