Beskrivelse
Two mothers fleeing from the British Isles during World War Two. Why does one fret about being a war bride, while the other who married a widower, seems more relaxed? Why does the younger one give one but only one of her babies away? Why is her husband sent home from the battlefield? What will it be like leaving Birmingham during wartime and settling in a Canadian wilderness?
