Beskrivelse
Make Your Own Chai, Mama's Boy is a collection of short stories depicting the lives of various characters and what it is like to be intertwined in the intricate web of the Indian experience. A young girl, unable to bear children, is shipped off to meet her fate and marry "The Cotton King", who is not only older and far from Prince Charming, but already with child. A young East African woman must make a very difficult decision when it comes to the acceptance of her half-breed child or the acceptance of her family. A young Indian man attempts a go at "the normal" heterosexual relationship, denying who he really is, only to his own bitter regret. A modern Indian woman takes the courage to finally re-evaluate her submissive lifestyle and stand up to the mother-in-law and her intolerable son. These and other stories set the stage and fuel the fire, challenging age-old ideas about what actually comprises the Indian Experience.
