Widow Grace Priddy's brother-in-law despises her. Ever since he took Grace and her three daughters in, he's treated them like dirt. Grace can't stand it any longer. Desperate, she flees west as a Mail Order Bride to marry Josiah Murphy. She doesn't tell Josiah that she has three daughters, figuring that would be a deal breaker. Josiah is thrilled that Grace is coming. His ranch is slowly taking shape, and he yearns for a woman to share it with. When Grace arrives with her three daughters, Josiah is blindsided. Feeling tricked, he calls the wedding off. Later, out of sympathy, he takes her on as a temporary housekeeper. Grace scurries to find another position-something permanent where her daughters will be secure. She finds a place and reluctantly leaves Josiah's employ. For despite Josiah's cold treatment, she has fallen in love with him. Only when she receives a marriage proposal from another man, does she understand the depth of her love for Josiah. But, it's too late. Things have gone too far. There seems to be no way out-and no way for Grace to marry her true love.
