Beskrivelse
This book is a layman's attempt to look at the enigmatic aspects of Gandhi in the context of his own fundamental beliefs and establish his relevance to this generation and the generations to come. And this is done, mostly, with Gandhi's own words, from his own writings; especially, his autobiography, known as "My Experiments with the Truth," inadequate as it may sound. It is the belief of the author that the reasons for Gandhi's enigmatic personality are not far to seek; either we fail to understand him in totality or we fail to broaden our own, narrow perspectives on life before we make an attempt to understand Gandhi. Gandhi had understood the essence of metaphysics of Indian Philosophy which is the foundation of the Hindu way of life and he had put the spirit of Hinduism into practical action. Those with narrow-minded or one-sided view found the phenomena of Gandhi baffling and enigmatic.
