Eveline Sandra Valentini is the perfect example of a fulfilled and balanced middle-aged forty plus. Born to an English mother and Italian father, Eveline trots the globe as the daughter of an ex-pat during her early childhood, only to return to England in her teens. During her University years there, she meets Florian, an Irish-Algerian half-caste, with whom she falls in love and marries and has two beautiful children, Julian and Emma. Thanks to Florian's careering and professional success as Manager of a Multinational Company in the Beauty sector, Eveline moves from Paris to the beautiful lakeside town of Como, Italy where she makes a life for herself as an English language teacher and settles in the local bourgeois community. On a plain and ordinary Monday, during her weekly food shop, Eveline is approached by a very alluring and mysterious man. The encounter stirs something profound within her and, as a result, Eveline's inner transformation begins. In the months that follow, Eveline undergoes a radical physical and psychological change as she confronts her demons and growing desire for Tristano, the mystery man. She stops perceiving herself as mother and wife and starts considering herself as a very feminine and attractive woman. Her revived self-esteem and sensuality unleash new, powerful emotions that drive her need to feel extraordinary and unique in her conventionally plain and ordinary world. Tristano, a born predator and true narcissist, very skillfully draws Eveline's attention and catalyzes her growing desire and lust for him on her every shop in the supermarket; testing her, trying her and leading her on her psychological downfall towards adultery. After several months of inner torment, intriguing encounters and a session with a psychologist, Eveline decides to move things forward and give into Tristano's irresistible courtship but on the arranged day of their first date something very unexpected happens...
