Magical Animals - A Grayscale Coloring Book by Molly Harrison features owls, polar bears, and more. Some are done in a whimsical fantasy style while others are more realistic. This is a GRAYSCALE coloring book, meaning all the shades from black to white are included (this is not a line art coloring book). I recommend using alcohol markers (put a piece of heavy paper between the pages to prevent bleed through), chalk pastels, and colored pencils for best results. These mediums allow the shading from the grayscale to come through while other mediums such as crayons do not work very well because they are so opaque. Gel pen is fine for highlighting but it is also very opaque and will not allow for the gradation of shading to come through. Some people find eye shadow to be a fun medium to use too It is not recommended to use wet media such as watercolor. Anyone who loves animals and loves grayscale coloring will appreciate this book.
