Macaroni and Cheese, Hot Dogs and Peas

"When I eat dinner, my mom and dad say, 'Let's thank the Lord for our food today.' And I would...but what I want to know, please, is what does God have to do with my macaroni and cheese?"  



Even the youngest children have questions, and they deserve thoughtful answers. This book starts with each of the foods on the plate and explains in simple terms where it comes from: macaroni from wheat grown in a field, cheese made from milk from a cow, hot dogs from pigs, and peas planted by a farmer.



Still confused, the child asks who she should thank, the farmer or cow? How does God figure into all this?



In engaging rhyme, the foods encourage gratefulness to all who are part of bringing food to our tables, but especially to God who looks after them all.
