Loving God involves loving what He loves and caring about what He cares about. Both those who are sheep at present and those that will soon be converted need someone to direct them on behalf of God: that is spiritual leadership. It doesn't matter if it is a congregation, family or individual, it doesn't matter if your leadership is primary or secondary, those in your charge need you, as a leader, to allow yourself to be guided by the Spirit. That is the only way to fulfill God's purpose: that is the only way to succeed as a leader.
