Beskrivelse
The central themes of Lutheran theology that are fundamental to the protestant church, that have resulted in a potent history of effects, and which to this day impact ecclesial dealings and influence societal life are all illuminated in this volume. It seeks on the one hand to provide a careful historical account of Martin Luther's key theological concerns in their fundamental form, and, on the other, to clearly present their meaning for church and society today. Each contribution to the volume was conceived as part of a series of lectures celebrating the fifth centenary of the Reformation held by Tubingen's protestant theology faculty during the 2016/17 winter semester. As such, it is a compact survey from the viewpoint of various disciplines about the most important Reformation topics including theology as well as life. It is intended for all those interested in studying the relevance of the Reformation and its enduring topicality.
