Of the 7 seven deadly sins, the author contends "Lust" is, in today's world, the most destructive one of them all. He cites the enormous number of women and children that are sexually violated every day by rape, domestic abuse, incest, child prostitution, child trafficking and child pornography. However, it appears most people are desensitized to the sin of lust; they do not see its devastating effects even when it creeps into their own lives. Lust is a subtle and insidious sin because an idolatry of sexual pleasure permeates our world throughout all aspects of life today in fashions, customs, amusement, advertising, and even in the prevalent versions of sex education taught to children. The devil is a most clever creature who knows "our spirit part is willing, but our flesh is weak.". He has set up the world to appeal to the weakness of our flesh.Sexual lusters dehumanize other people by using them as objects for their own selfish sexual pleasure. They have no regard for the other person's human dignity and self-worth. They come in all forms including priests, Boy Scout leaders, dance instructors, swimming instructors, Little League coaches, the neighbor, teacher, a relative, and a camp counselor among many others. Who can you trust? Lust is a pandemic no one talks about until now.
