Lucy, The Angel Lab

It is a sad fact of life that some soldiers return home injured not only in their bodies but also in their spirits. Military dogs are soldiers, too. Sometimes, they are killed or wounded. This book tells the story of one combat team, Sgt. Sam and his explosives dog, Lucy.There is a saying that all dogs are angels. They protect their humans in so many ways, not only physically, but mentally, too. Some experience PTSD, a kind of depression. The author hopes that kids reading this book learn about the roles dogs play in our lives, not only protecting their handlers, but as heroes in their own right.
