Eliot Wilson is close to being called old and after his wife died it could be said that he had lost heart. Then a speaking engagement led to him being made an offer that both excited him and filled him with anxiety, an offer to work in a school in a small village in Uttar Pradesh. For Eliot, travel for the first time will be a solitary journey. On this journey he briefly enters the world of people who are confronted by their misfortunes, challenged by the actions and intentions of others. This journey challenges Eliot too because always there with him, his companion, human weakness. But Eliot was born at the right time and as his mother always said, under a lucky star.
