Part 1: Loyalty is everything...or is it?
Simba, the son of St. Louis's most notorious drug dealer, is home from prison and right back to trapping on the streets. He wants to make a come up for himself, but parole, baby mama drama, and a new enemy who wants him out of the way and back in prison seem to get in the way. He can normally go to Lailani for directions, but she seems to have her own problems.
Lailani is happy about Simba being home and she feels her life is complete since she has her best friend, an established career, and is looking forward to marrying her son's father, Royce. However, things begin to take a turn for the worse when she discovers a side to Royce she's never seen and he takes her on an emotional journey.
While Simba and Lailani have always had each other, their friendship becomes strained when Royce requires her to choose between a marriage to him or a friendship with Simba. A true friend should last a lifetime, so will she honor the promise she made to Simba to remain loyal no matter what, or will she succumb to Royce's demands and turn her back on Simba?
Part 2: As Sebastian "Simba" Carter struggles to get his life on track after being home from prison for a few months, the custody battle with Candy takes an additional toll on him. The information the private investigator reveals about her shatters his soul, but he's determined to keep fighting for Lil' Simba. Meanwhile, he's mulling over the idea of leaving the streets behind to take on a more legitimate opportunity, or turning his hustle into a full-time career so he can fill his father's shoes.
With Royce behind bars, Lailani is slowly but surely attempting to put the pieces of her life back together. She finds the strength to move on with the help of Simba and an FBI agent she's befriended. However, the FBI agent is a little too helpful, prompting Lailani to think there's an undercover motive behind her friendliness.
These best friends continue to fight their feelings for each other as they strive to get their lives in order. Simba is constantly faced with Emory's insecurity and bickering about his friendship with Lailani. On the other hand, Lailani has to control her feelings for Simba and respect his new relationship. Will these friends remain loyal when their friendship continues to be tested or will they succumb to the pressure, give in, and let go?
Part 3: Simba is happy about becoming a father again but begins to question his relationship with Emory. He starts to see what Lailani has been saying about Emory all along and wonders if having a baby with her will be a good idea after all. While dealing with the constant drama that comes with being with Emory, he also learns why Basilio is so pressed about meeting him. Basilio warns Simba about going to war with Lil' Jon, but against his better judgment, he does anyway. This war proves to be deadly, and Simba is forced to make a final decision about his role in the drug game or giving it up once and for all.
A new boo pique's Lailani's interest, but as usual, Simba gives her hell about being with another man. Meanwhile, things begin to take a turn for the worse in her life yet again, and she is forced to make some lifestyle changes. As soon as it seems she has her life in order, things get out of whack again when tragedy strikes for her, and secrets start to unravel. Although Simba has always been her knight in shining armor, she begins to question if she can continue to be loyal to him when he gets her caught up in his mess. Is loyalty really everything, or will she leave Simba alone for good?
