Beskrivelse
Vanessa is a southern girl from Georgia, with northern attractions. She was brought up in a bi-racial
household, where black and white didn't define her. Her parents divorced when she was young and she
witnessed her mother working hard as a single parent. She always dreamed of a big house, with lots of
children and a happy marriage. Of all the things going right in her life, LOVE always seemed to be the
most complicated.
Vanessa is educated, sophisticated, classy and everything in between. She has two teenagers who keep
her young and active with all their sports and extra-curricular activities. After years of battling an
exhausting and abusive relationship with Xavior, Vanessa was ready to make changes in her life.
The fear of starting over and being alone and becoming a single parent intimidated her. She was tired
and frustrated, but couldn't let her children see her pain and anger. Heartbroken, sad, and scared, she
had to make life look as normal as possible for them. Her husband of ten years, was not only verbally
and mentally abusive to her and the children, he was draining all of her dreams and goals.
Having a Master's Degree in business she was about to embark on a life-changing experience. She was
up for a new promotion, requiring more time and dedication to her work. She was also trying to break
away from her husband. Long work days would finally pay off. Or at least she hoped.
When Xavior finally left, she felt a sense of freedom. The house was quiet, which also gave her anxiety.
The constant arguing was almost normal for her. Until she came home and found her house in disarray.
Xavior was really testing her patience. Her only rescue was selling their home. It was long overdue and
the only way she knew to actually start over.
Like most, Vanessa had needs and desires. She ventured out into the social scene. Learning to be single
and free. Even though she yearned for love, she needed excitement as well. She was promiscuous at
times, looking to satisfy a void. She had a few one-night stands and tried stale relationships. Her best
friend Paula, encouraged her to enjoy life and gain happiness and pleasure.
After a few dead-end situationships, Vanessa met Shayne. They met randomly in a bar and casually
dated for a few months. Her feelings were growing strong. The relationship with Shayne seemed
promising. There was mystery about Shayne, and a lingering fear about being in love that Vanessa was
uncertain of. Life was moving fast.
A business trip turned into a vacation, quickly shifted into an unspoken love affair. Vanessa brought
Paula with her to the "Big Apple". Vanessa had family in Brooklyn, NY. Paula had never been to New
York. They toured the five borough's and enjoyed everything from plays, upscale dining, comedy shows
and lounges that were nothing compared to anything they had home in Georgia.
Darius came into her life at an unsettling time. Vanessa was fresh in a new relationship with Shayne,
recovering from her ended marriage with Xavior and away from home working for several weeks. She
just purchased her new house that she wasn't fully settled in. She was training on her new position at
work and trying to focus on her career move as well as healing.
Darius showered her with affection and joy. He surprised her with gifts, fun, excitement and courted her
in ways she never experienced before. Torn between what she was experiencing and the relationship
with Shayne still new and fresh, she didn't want to make hasty choices. Can you be in love with two
people at once? Is this really love? Is it infatuation?
Vanessa was elated by their love story. As she was leaving the Big Apple she didn't know how to pursue
a long-distance affair. How could she walk away from what seemed so natural? Does she choose Love or is she scarred by her
past?
