Todd Chamberlin has told his grown children that under no circumstances are they to set him up with a blind date, so when his neighbor, Melissa, "forgets" to leave a house key outside for her sister, Carmen, to use, no one suspects a thing. Melissa does tell Carmen to "go see Todd" if she runs into any trouble over the week, house-sitting. Todd invites Carmen to stay and as the days unfold, they both come to realize they've lived the last six years in a fog.
