Heart-rending and sometimes erotic poetry weaves its achingly beautiful spell in Gustavo Lapis Ahumada's sensual collection, Love Has Fallen: Luscious Words for Modern Day Romantics. This dark and alluring collection of poems celebrate the heated passion of love lost. Drawing from his own experiences, Ahumada adds a lyrical note, due to his background as a musician. He says, "All of my music and writing are derived from every laugh, tear and blood spilled in the name of love. If I have not lived it, I would not be able to write about it adequately." As his inspiration, Ahumada cites his parents, his daughter and the state of the human condition. "I'm inspired by these three major forces in my life and how they have reacted, how they react and how they will react in the face of love and all its glory, good and bad." Gustavo Lapis Ahumada has been writing for over 25 years. He is a musician and the founder of the notorious New York City underground band Bitter Grace. He established himself as the first Latino singer to front a Goth band back in the '80s and can still be found performing in the dark recesses of the city. Born in Argentina, he came to New York City to live when he was six. "I write because I have to. It is like my music. It is a passion that cannot and will not be denied."
