The protagonist of the tale is Jane, a struggling artist who, out of desperation,consents to take a lucrative offer to temporarily wed a millionaire businessman Their relationship is first strictly professional, but as they spend more time together, they both begin to develop feelings for each other. Jane quickly learns, though, that he is hiding something from her and that their relationship might not be as simple as she believe. The book takes the reader on a tour through the ultra-wealthy society while examining the topic of love, power, and money.
