Loughshinny, Ireland Twenty-two year old Patrick Quinn is thrilled. Not only did he just recently graduate from university, but he also, much to his surprise, received his parents' blessing when told of his intentions of moving to the United States to work. With his newly acquired degree and handsome looks, his possibilities seem limitless. Soon he arrives in South Boston and takes up residence with two old school mates, Kevin and Phil, who relocated the previous year. After some initial difficulty he at last lands a job with AT&T. He also begins dating the beautiful Tara O'Malley. And just when it appears as though all of Patrick's dreams are finally starting to come true, a call from his family back home dramatically changes his life forever and puts him on a destructive course with destiny, which culminates in a revelation so shocking, nothing could have prepared him for it.
