Tara's life was on a one-way trip to the grave when she met Austin. She didn't expect to fall in love with him. He just kept doing these sweet things like holding her when she had nightmares and giving her flowers when she was at the lowest point in her life. That and he looked good without a shirt on. Maybe if the cult of scarred men would stop trying to kill her, or if the nightmares would stop, she'd have a chance at love. Tara is not quite a typical young woman. She's smart, funny, likes to read, and argue with her parents over small things like boys. The 'not quite' is because Tara's dying from some unknown illness. It has caused her to waste away. She can also summon small glowing micro-monsters to chase away the shadows in her closet. Her friend, the voice in her head, taught her how to do that when she was little. With the cult closing in, Tara agrees to take a chance at a new life. With the help of an FBI Agent, they travel to a strange new world. Starting a new life in a strange land is never easy, but with the help of new friends, Tara may have a chance with Austin. Even the dragons want to help...
