Beskrivelse
This e-book covers the 1992 Los Angeles riots, which were touched off when a jury acquitted three police officers charged with the beating of Rodney G. King. A mistrial was declared for a fourth officer. The 1991 beating was captured on video and the four white officers charged with beating Mr. King - Stacey Koon, Theodore Briseno, Timothy Wind and Laurence Powell - were later indicted on federal civil rights charges. Officers Koon and Powell were convicted and sentenced to two years in prison, and Mr. King was awarded $3.8 million in damages.
