This is a compilation of common Christian words and phrases that I struggled with over the years. Early on I when I became a Christian I didn't know what deacon or apostle meant among others and so I would study the words in the dictionary and then find scriptures to help give me a clearer understanding of what they meant. Proverbs 4:7 says "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding." So my constant prayer was Lord make it plain (to me) so I can understand. Ironically, but in typical God fashion He had me keep a list and now here I am writing a book to share the understanding I've gotten. I hope you're able to get something out of this as I have. MINISTER A person authorized to conduct religious worship; member of the clergy; pastor. To give service, care, or aid; attend, as to wants or necessities: to help. Then the devil left Him; and behold, angels came and began to minister to Him. Matthew 4:11 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation? But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister. Matthew 20:26 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. Matthew 20:28
