L'Opacité

Growing up on air force bases in a dysfunctional family, the author re-examines her memories of growing up through different life stages. Filtered through the lens of time, they have taken on blurred edges, as if viewing them through a lace curtain. The title, L'Opacité, captures this opaqueness. Isolation, alcoholism, dysfunction, feelings of not fitting in, not being enough, feeling lost, confused, lonely, or unloved - these are emotions felt by many people universally and the author hopes the reader will find a small piece of connection, understanding, and solace in this poetry collection.
