Looking For Alligators; A Collection of Poems is a compilation of poetry written over the years, telling the stories Anne-Marie heard from her parents who lived in pre-WWII Philippines. Her poetry has roots in her growing up life in Manila, and it follows her journey to the United States, to marriage and children and everything along the way.
Anne-Marie was born in the Philippines, and grew up in Manila. She attended the University of Oregon and the University of Southern California, majoring in Creative Writing. After living in the North Texas area, Anne-Marie and her husband recently moved to sunny Southwest Florida, where they share love
and home with an extended family of six grown children, one cat, two dogs, and assorted grandpets. Anne-Marie's work has appeared in Numinous, The Alembic, Foliate Oak, Amarillo Bay, and Soundings East literary magazines. Anne-Marie has also won the 2011 Margaret Reid Prize for Traditional Verse - Most Highly Recommended, for the poem "Brother and I".
Anne-Marie has recently published three children's books: Lovemee, Benzie the Balloon Dog, Anthony and Arabella. Anne-Marie has also written and published Dog Stories; Finding Home - which tells the stories of three of her dogs, two rescued and one who became forever a part of her heart.
