As Angie nears her high school graduation, all she feels is terror. Not because of her uncertain future, but because of what comes beforehand: her town's ancient and deadly rite of passage.

Upon turning eighteen years old, residents are required to jump off a cliff into the town's sacred stream-an act that has been going on for centuries and is believed to prepare them for the future and eventual afterlife.

While many teenagers train for years in order to achieve the perfect jump, accidents and even death still regularly occur.

The closer the time comes, the more Angie finds herself questioning the true purpose behind it all. Why must she risk her life just because the town authorities tell her to?

She soon discovers an underground resistance movement dedicated to doing away with the ancient ritual, but Angie's concern for her loved ones makes the decision of whether or not to join a difficult one.

As Angie embarks on an exploration of love, free will, and independence, she faces a seemingly impossible choice: do what's expected of her or follow her heart?
