Boon, an aging gunflghter, tells two stories about his past, the first to his son Clay and the second to his grandson Max. As the years pass, each of them discovers these tales were meant to disguise aspects off Boon's murderous past. Clay and Max set off on separate journeys to discover the balance between the truth and lies of their violent heritage. Drawing on the iconic roles of Steve McQueen in "The Magnificent Seven" and "The Cincinnati Kid," the novel portrays lives lived with courage amidst the turmoil of self-discovery.
