Log: March 22, 2019 - May 12, 2020 is the photographic diary of Roni Horn, a mixed-media artist known worldwide for her cerebral, minimalist, and diverse body of work. Her photographs, drawings, sculptures, and books explore the constantly shifting natures of gender and identity, of language and society, and of course, of nature itself.
In Log: March 22, 2019 - May 12, 2020, Horn challenged herself to create her own archive of art, done in real time. Horn shares photographs and drawings, ideas and impressions directly from her point of view as an artist each day over the course of 14 months. Ranging from the humorous and political to the beautiful and austere, Horn's interior world that she shares here is her true legacy, a personal history she built for herself.
Beginning in March 2019, Horn had no idea what would be in store for this project, and it's immediacy captures her own experience of the global pandemic's early days. Exploring isolation, loneliness, and her own personal past, Horn transforms experiences into an emotionally profound, visual manifestation. The result is beguiling and immersive, allowing us to see the world through Roni Horn's unfiltered lens.
