Gene and Marie were blessed with a loving marriage, a healthy baby girl whom they adored, good-paying jobs, and steadily growing investments. The good fortune was not long lasting and their lives spun out of control after a medical misdiagnosis that threatened the life of their newborn son. Little by little, what they saw as a perfect life was stripped away as they lost jobs from medical complications and cashed in investments to stay afloat-even becoming one of the top ten neediest families in the St. Louis area.
