Louisa May Alcott's best-loved classic tale of life for four sisters during the Civil War period. Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March sit, at Christmas time, lamenting their poverty. Soon a letter arrives, announcing that their father, a Union Army chaplain is very ill, and things are put into perspective. The story, based upon Alcott's real-life with her sisters, follows the family through adulthood, showing the delights and struggles of family life. This novel showcases both parts of the story, including the second book, "Good Wives."
