Beskrivelse
Four scattered siblings are brought together by the unexpected death of their mother. Carol, a single mum and long term environmental activist, Robert, the older brother struggling with a mental illness, Jennifer, losing her husbands's family farm to a relentless drought, and Andrew, living overseas with his son and boyfriend. Now all adults are living very different lives and they must discover new ways to connect with the present and past, with a father they hardly know and with each other. But the present holds uncertainty. Climate change is all around them. It impacts on each of them in unexpected ways. It overshadows their disparate lives with its singular, growing and undeniable force. Sandra Heilpern weaves a familiar yet intricate and uncertain journey as she explores how each of the siblings lives out the legacy of intergenerational trauma. The looming spectre of climate change is never far from the surface and threatens to take centre stage. Faced with the destructive legacy of climate change, knowingly passed from generation to generation, it becomes clear our own lives share the same future.
