Beskrivelse
The book opens with the statement: "Pep and Squeek were very good friends. They lived in the same house. They shared the same dishes and the same blue couch. They even shared the housework. The most important thing they shared was friendship." The book is composed of three stories, each focusing on a different aspect of the bunnies' relationship. ·
The First Story, "The Purple Hat", is about respecting each other's belongings. The story ends with Squeek saying, "Even though we share most everything, we should still ask to borrow each other's special things." ·
The Second Story, "A Little Quiet," teaches about compromise and about creative solutions for problems. The story opens with, "Pep enjoyed music very much. She listened to her records all the time. This did not bother Squeek except when he was reading his book. He enjoyed reading very much." ·
The Third Story, "The Hot Fudge Sunday. Pep decides to make Squeek's favorite treat for his birthday, chocolate brownies. The brownies don't harden, so she makes a fudge sauce for ice cream. Squeek says, "Oh Pep, how sweet of you to make me a hot fudge sundae for my birthday." Squeek could see that Pep was happy with her present. Besides, she too had a hot fudge sundae to eat!
