As much as pregnancy is a physical transformation of our lives, we also have to gain clarity of the spiritual component to truly understand what this process of life is for a woman. Too often, women go through this experience only with the perspective of physical reproduction and when a physical life is not produced resulting in a miscarriage i.e. a spiritual birth, they suffer and are left with a drastic spiritual undertaking without any understanding of the greater purpose of life that it gave them.
1 out of every 4 pregnancies result in a spiritual birth i.e miscarriage and as much as the nature of this experience is common for women around the world, it is taboo to speak about in many cultures.
Women take on a sense of shame and disappointment to be transparent enough to talk about it and to seek beyond the loss to find understanding. It becomes a silent and invisible wound that many women never truly heal from. There is an opportunity to discover so much more of ourselves and what it means to be a creator of life. The reflective time afterwards is essential to healing, rejuvenating our bodies and finding guidance on how we are supposed to move forward.
