This e-single features film reviews, interviews and op eds from the New York Times about the career of filmmaker John Hughes. While he gained prominence in Hollywood as a screenwriter for comedies including 'Mr. Mom,' it was with 'Sixteen Candles' that he began his directing career and founded the genre of the 1980s teen film, for which he is most remembered. He went on to direct classics such as 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' and 'The Breakfast Club,' and later scripted one of the best known films of the 1990s, 'Home Alone.'
