This emotional and highly relevant story for today, follows the travails and adventures of Virginia, a young Black woman who escapes an abusive marriage and the oppressive control of a strict religious group where women are treated like second class citizens, and builds a positive new life for herself. After her difficult divorce from Elliot, Virginia slowly learns that life does go on, and when she meets Roger, she realizes that beauty and blessings can come from an ugly situation.
