Liesi, a Tale of One Kitty is a must-read for anyone who has ever been owned by a cat. The text is delightfully humorous and touching. The preface deals with the history of cats starting in Egypt where felines were revered. It continues with the Dark Ages when cats were linked to witches and cruelly tortured and burned. During the Black Plague, transmitted to man by the fleas on rats, cat ownership fell back into favor. The first chapters of the book offer touching accounts of the authors lifelong love affair with the felines in her life. The story then progresses to her present feline companion, Liesi. These chapters provide anecdotes written from Liesis humorous perspective of her owner and the world around her.
