The Old Testament shows how God first revealed himself to humankind. Though complex and often puzzling, it gives us essential insight into Yahweh's dealings with us. Dr. Kinlaw believes that the Old Testament depicts a just God who is nonetheless loving and merciful. Rather than an implacable judge, God more often appears in the Old Testament as a compassionate, self-sacrificing Father.
