Learning to Heal

Chronologically speaking, Ashley had only spent a small portion of her time on the planet in what couldn't really even be charitably considered 'less than ideal circumstances'. To someone who had actually lived through that hell, well... let's just say whoever even considered that comparison should probably get punched in the face. Still, the experiences had both hurt Ashley to the core, and yet she came out just a little bit stronger each time.But the pain of her past wasn't something that could simply be forced to disappear, even in a world inhabited by people with strange and wondrous powers. It was something that would take time, a whole bunch of therapy, and most importantly, the love, compassion, and bond of those that cared for her. Even with dark forces still at work all around her, it was starting to happen. Slowly but surely the frightened young girl was starting to understand.Ashley had both a power and a strength she never truly realized she possessed, and with the support of her friends she just might be able to start actually taking them on.
