The road to literacy involves learning letters (alphabets), syllables (phonemes), words (morphemes), and sentences, (semantics). Our project, Learning My ABC's Literacy System, seeks to fulfill one of first links in this literacy development process. Children who do not know their alphabet before starting kindergarten are less likely to develop the pre-reading skills necessary to succeed. Our aim is to increase academic readiness by laying the foundation for literacy. Learning the alphabet is a pre-literacy skill essential to a student's educational success. The Learning My ABC's Literacy System is aimed at preparing children ages 2-5 academically as well as other students in need of learning the English alphabet. The Learning My ABC's Picture & Music Book represents the first component of our literacy system (sold separately) which includes: an 18 x 24" poster, a writing & coloring book and flashcards.
