Lathem's Lament

Lathem's Lament is the account of a rural Georgia community's metamorphosis in the summer of 1952. As the Korean conflict rages, the Whitfield family worries about their oldest son's safety while he fights overseas. Meanwhile, racial tensions boil over, farms are threatened by bankruptcy as crops fail, and children face secrets that were once shrouded in their community.
