Last Turn of the Cheek: A Tracy Brubaker Mystery

The body of high school bully Darrius Benington is found stabbed to death in the home of shy, 15-year-old Antoine Lyons. Antoine is accused of the crime but maintains his innocence, even if he can't explain how the victim (and killer) managed to get into the home that he shares with his mother, Evette. Enter attorney Tracy Brubaker Shane, who believes in Antoine's innocence, even if she suspects he's not telling her the whole truth. The attorney must figure out why Darrius was killed where he was killed as well as learn the motive behind the murder of someone who was essentially a harmless loudmouth. Or was he? As Tracy learns all she can about Darrius, however, she becomes troubled when the possibility arises the police may have been involved in the killing. Add to that a shocking personal development that sends her for the proverbial loop, and Tracy once again must separate the personal and professional aspects of the case if she hopes to learn the truth.
